Venus Concept is a leader in the global medical and aesthetic device market, pairing best-in-class technology with the first and only true subscription model in the industry.
Dr. Julius Few, Founder of the Few Institute For Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Chicago and New York City, has stellar credentials that span two of the most prestigious institutions, in the U. S.: Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the University of Chicago. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery.
With his naturally straight-forward, friendly and very relatable style and personality, Dr. Few is a widely sought-after guest on TV talk and medical shows, author of a multitude of magazine articles and a highly read expert in the “Doctor Community” of the RealSelf.com Internet phenomenon. Since its inception, in 2006, RealSelf has been a valuable and respected resource for tens of millions of real people, world-wide.
“When patients first walk in, they know it’s really all about them.”
“We embrace the latest innovation in surgery and the latest and greatest in non-surgical technology to create, what I call, a blending of cosmetic excellence.”
Dr. Few explains his specific mission that he credits with making his Few Institute a world-class institute, for aesthetic medicine. “This is really a center that focuses on the state of the art in both plastic surgery and cosmetic medicine. We embrace the latest innovation in surgery and the latest and greatest in non-surgical technology to create, what I call, a blending of cosmetic excellence.”
By blending the two modalities, Dr. Few finds that he can do “less aggressive surgical intervention while getting the same kind of great results, for our patients, without the typical issues of downtime or recovery.” Additionally, Dr. Few believes that the non-invasive procedures can be a “great bridge or substitute to those patients who are not quite ready for surgery.”
But what really sets Dr. Few apart and has made his Institute the go-to source for state-of-the-art technology, is his decade-long dedication to the scientific research and study of the industry’s premiere, innovative products and procedures. Discovering his innate aptitude for quickly grasping and analyzing “the latest and greatest innovation,” at the University level, Dr. Few decided to bring that expertise to his own private clinic.
“Here, at the Few Institute,” Dr. Few says, “we can continue to study and work with ground-breaking technology. We’ve done and hosted a number of FDA trials and have helped bring to market, even faster than expected, some of the true leading-edge innovations that exist in cosmetic medicine.”
The partnership between Dr. Few and Venus Concept, is, what the Doctor calls, “the perfect marriage between a clinical practice and a commercial interest.” The Few Institute was one of the first clinics Venus Concept chose to introduce the revolutionary technology of their Venus Freeze device. While “radio-frequency” was the new buzz word for non-invasive skin-tightening, Venus Freeze was a whole new story: a Multi-Polar Radio Frequency and Pulsed Magnetic fields aesthetic device. This was unique.
With an eye to how he could best implement Venus Freeze into his practice, Dr. Few says, “At first, I thought its best use, with its multi-polar technology, would be for post-surgical patients – especially liposuction patients – as a tool to aid in skin tightening and rejuvenation. But it very quickly moved into a stand-alone treatment for a variety of concerns; from small areas of unwanted fat, to the most dreaded areas of cellulite. Then, of course, for skin tightening.” Dr. Few knew this was going to be huge.
Ultimately, at the Few Institute, Venus Freeze has been used to tighten skin and areas of body fat, literally, from head to toe; to enhance post operative tightening or reduce swelling. Dr. Few says, “Venus Freeze is one of the more versatile tools that we’ve used both for post-surgery and for patients who don’t want or are not candidates for surgery.”
Now including Venus Legacy, into his practice, with its added VariPulse™ technology, Dr. Few has even more options for skin-tightening procedures. The two major advantages of the Venus Legacy, according to Dr. Few, is the ability to target cellulite, particularly in the thigh and buttocks and to isolate areas, like the abdomen, with the adjustable pulsed suction Technology.
Over the next five years to the present, the relationship between Dr. Few and Venus Concept, evolved, to a place where their synergy melded. They work closely to, perhaps, expand applications and implement studies of new efficacies. “The scientists at Venus Concept,” Dr. Few says, “are very open to hearing our ideas and work with us whether for an investigator-initiated study or just simple ideas like using the energy of the Venus Legacy for a longer period of time to try for a more significant result.”
“We embrace the latest innovation in surgery and the latest and greatest in non-surgical technology to create, what I call, a blending of cosmetic excellence.”
But a truly good partnership offers mutual benefits in many support areas and Dr. Few enjoys several of them. The Venus Concept marketing support is widely-recognized, in the industry. In addition, to their live events and world tours with the major fashion and beauty shows, Dr. Few notes, “From the social media footprint to having spotlights on the more popular news and TV shows, print ads, and so on, there’s really a lot being done to help familiarize our patients with their technology.”
Likewise, Dr. Few also highlights the Venus Concept technology on a number of his TV show appearances, both nationally and abroad. “I always receive strong support whether it’s getting the actual products into the office or studio, for our shoots and, of course, with talking points and sharp sounds-bites that are always so helpful.”
With the same characteristic openness that Dr. Few talks with his patients, he touches on the need to balance the hype of the media with the interest of the public. “I like that when it comes to not overselling what a product can do, the Company is open to giving a realistic view of the technology. Of course, it does a lot of great things but when talking to consumers, I’m very careful to not give just a one-sided perspective and Venus Concept works really well with me on that.”
