Position:             HR Generalist  

Reporting to:     Vice President, Global Human Resources

Location:            San Jose, USA

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time HR Generalist to join our growing team! Reporting to the Vice President, Global Human Resources, the HR Generalist will be based at our San Jose office and provide HR support ranging from recruitment to performance management to employee relations.  In addition, the HR Generalist will manage the HR/Training component in the quality management process for North America.

What you will do:

  • Build strong working relationships with business leaders and provide support for all HR matters; conducts weekly meetings with respective business units.
  • Implement and administer global and local HR programs and policies.
  • Conduct full life cycle recruitment for all positions within the San Jose office from proactively sourcing and building a candidate pool, to screening and assessing candidates, through to assisting in select the most qualified candidates.
  • Responsible for onboarding of new hires in HRIS and for benefits, pension plans and payroll.
  • Manage and monitor performance-related issues jointly with respective managers.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Manage and execute HR/Training documentation as it relates to the company’s quality management system/process for all of North America.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Act as liaison between the business and Global HR.
  • Manage specific projects and take on additional tasks as determined by the Global HR.



What you will need:

  • University degree in HR or related discipline with a combination of 5+ years experience, with at least 2 years in a management type role.
  • Experience in the medical device industry is an asset.
  • Knowledge and expertise in HR policies and procedures.
  • Significant knowledge of the hiring process.
  • A strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR.
  • Excellent judgement and problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proven track record of conflict management/resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office specifically Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and maintains excellent follow-through and follow-up.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptable, agile, and able to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
