Location: San Jose, California

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Material Handler to join our growing team located in San Jose, California. The Material Handler will maintain all exceptional standards of material handling, receiving, shipping and transactions while meeting all quality and regulations guidelines. This position requires the individual to handle large volume of receipts, and handling material while maintaining storage accuracy. This individual will interact mostly on a daily basis with R&D, Manufacturing/NPI, Quality and Operations. However, this position requires that this person work with most of the company to support all material needs, cross functionally.

What you’ll do:

  • Receiving: Receiving materials, physically and systemically, to be used in manufacturing operations and engineering projects.
  • Stock: Physically and systemically moving approved manufacturing materials from IQC staging areas into stock locations.
  • Parts replenishment: Point-of-use parts replenishment for designated manufacturing lines.
  • Material transfer: Fulfilling and transacting MT requests, received either electronically or via hard copy.
  • Sales order fulfillment: Fulfilling and transacting sales orders and service transfer orders.
  • Kitting: Manufacturing parts replenishment via kitting.
  • Shipping: Packing systems and kits for shipping.
  • Communicating verbally and via email the status of material movements and transactions to appropriate internal customers.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement, including the creation and implementation of small-scale improvements.
  • Locating and counting parts accurately (using cycle-count documents), executing required data input and accurately completing required documentation.
  • Effectively applying knowledge of material flow and basic warehousing principles to Material Handling assignments (FIFO, consolidation, lean principles).

What you’ll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years plus experience shipping, receiving, materials management; experience in medical device industry or comparable capital equipment industry required.
  • Valid and clean driver’s license.

Who you are:

  • Experienced in ERP inventory control, material receipt, stocking, issue and cycle count programs.
  • Experienced in domestic and international shipping. Including documentation: commercial invoices, SLI, etc.
  • Able to resolve material (inbound, outbound and in the stores) transaction issues, independently and in a timely fashion to ensure accuracy.
  • Cycle count management experience.
  • Kitting and Kanban management/maintenance preferred.
  • Knowledge Medical Device regulations with clear understanding of documentation, identification and traceability requirements.
  • Able to properly identify and handle conforming and non-conforming materials.
